Everyone you love.

All in one place.

Wedding Films

on Digital, Hi8 Camcorder, & Super 8

ABOUT

Technically, this story starts before I was born.

When I was seven, my mom showed me a Super 8 film she had made with her brother as a kid. There they were in 1970 - my mom and uncle, still children, telling a visual story in a world that had disappeared decades before I ever saw it.

I was hooked.

As a teenager, I carried a Hi8 camcorder everywhere. Skits with friends. School projects. Passion films we took way too seriously. Mostly just life happening around us.

Hi. I’m Colin.

Years later, that footage means more to me than I ever expected. Not because of what we made, but because of the people in it.

I never really stopped making things. Eventually, making videos became my actual job. I spent five years in commercial production, eventually running the studio floor of a production company in Los Angeles.

But I found myself wanting to make something a little more personal again.

THE GOOD STUFF.
USUALLY HAPPENS.
ON ITS OWN.

“Life goes fast.”

Everyone says it - and it’s true.

The older I get, the more I realize how rare it is to have the people you love all in one place. Parents. Grandparents. Childhood friends. College roommates. The people who helped shape your life.

A wedding is one of those rare days. And before you know it, it’s over.

You’ll remember pieces of it. Your vows. A speech that caught you off guard. Your friends losing their minds on the dance floor.

But years from now, I think what you’ll want most are the things that are harder to hold onto - the way your cousin danced, the sound of your grandmother’s laugh, the voices of the people you love.

That’s why I love filming weddings.

I take a documentary approach to the day. I’ll step in when it helps, but mostly, I want you to actually be there. The good stuff usually happens on its own.

I’m looking for the big moments, but just as much for everything happening around them - the nervous energy beforehand, your friends being idiots, your parents watching from across the room, the conversations and reactions you didn’t get to see.

I shoot digital, Hi8 and Super 8 because each one lets me see the day a little differently. The camcorder especially has a way of getting inside the celebration - passed around at times, in my hands during others - catching your people with an energy a traditional camera never really could.

Documentary at the core. Stylized in the edit. I bring those different formats, voices, and moments together into films that feel less like a recap and more like your wedding.

Your people. Your sense of humor. Your energy.

Something that only becomes more valuable with time.

One wedding.
A lot worth keeping.

I don't enjoy disappearing with your wedding for months while I work on your film.

I start giving pieces of it back while I’m still discovering them myself.

Sometimes before you even wake up that first morning.

The big one. All of the time in the world for the people, the voices, the chaos, and all the smaller moments happening around the day.

AFTER THE WEDDING

Just because the wedding ends.

Doesn’t mean the good stuff doesn’t.

01 / HOME MOVIES
THE WEDDING FROM THE INSIDE.

Filmed throughout the day on a mid-90’s camcorder - sometimes by me, sometimes by your people - the conversations, interviews, bad camera work and little pieces of the day captured from inside the celebration.

02 / THE IN-BETWEEN
SOME THINGS ARE TOO GOOD TO SIT ON.

A clip I found. Something somebody said. Your friends being idiots. Whatever turns up while I’m going through the day that deserves to make its way back to you.

03 / FILMS
WHERE IT ALL COMES TOGETHER.

The part where all that footage finally becomes something. This is where I get to have fun with everything we captured, and craft a couple polished films for you.

04 / THE ARCHIVE
THE STUFF WORTH KEEPING.

Depending on your Collection, that might mean your full ceremony and toasts, uncut Hi8, or Super 8 footage. Not everything needs to become a film to become more valuable with time.

A wedding gives you one day with everyone.

I want to give you as much of it back as I can.
